Volgograd investigators have completed a criminal investigation into the coordinator of the local headquarters of Alexei Navalny's presidential campaign, Alexei Volkov, who is accused of rehabilitating Nazism due to the publication of a picture with the Motherland monument, reports V1.ru .

“Aleksey Volkov, accused under the article “rehabilitation of Nazism,” as well as his lawyers have already completed familiarization with the case materials,” the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the Volgograd region told the publication.

The criminal case has been transferred to the prosecutor's office, which will have to approve the indictment. Last time, the prosecutor's office returned the case to the Investigative Committee.

Alexey Volkov became a defendant in a criminal case under Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code (rehabilitation of Nazism) at the end of July. According to investigators, he publicly desecrated the symbol of military glory by publishing a picture depicting a monument with a face stained with brilliant green.

At the end of August he was placed under house arrest.
