“It seems to me that all the dark forces, clicks, crazy, vandals, obscurantists have revived - the cars set fire to innocent citizens, the truck crashed into a cinema . Mini-ISIS begins, ” Interfax quoted Govorukhin.
According to Vladimir Bortko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture, he discussed the situation around Matilda with deputy Natalya Poklonskaya, who abruptly criticizes the film and seeks his ban.
“I said: why are you doing this? She says - what are you with them? I said - I am with the State Duma, and I would advise you to be quieter. She said: I will act as it tells me ... How something tells her, ”said Bortko, adding that, in his opinion, there is no reason to show the film and cannot be.
Earlier, the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky made a statement about the situation with Matilda. He believes that the shares of opponents of the film “discredit both state cultural policy and church.
The Minister also stated that the pressure on the cinemas in order to prevent the teacher’s picture - “this is lawlessness and censorship, which is directly prohibited by the Constitution of the Russian Federation” and turned to the leadership of law enforcement agencies with a request to “ensure compliance with the rule of law, tightly stop the pressure on the state and the film business from the unraveled“ activists ”with their socially hazardous methods of imposing their beliefs.”
