The court will consider the SERB leader's claim against Navalny for compensation for moral damage

On October 3 and 5, the Lublin District Court will consider claims against oppositionist Alexei Navalny for compensation for moral damages for an anti-corruption rally on June 12. On September 14, RAPSI writes about this with reference to the press service of the court.

Claims in the amount of 2.6 million rubles were filed by Igor Beketov, leader of the pro-Kremlin SERB group, and Igor Brumel, former municipal deputy of Zamoskvorechye. Earlier, the activists filed a lawsuit with the Tverskoy District Court, but it was returned.

Beketov believes that Navalny's agitation creates "nervousness in Russia and in Moscow." “He attracts young guys, sets them up, promising them legal support. Maybe he gives it to someone. But we don't want him to set up the young guys. They have a different future - study, sports. Why do they climb where they don’t understand [anything]? said the SERB leader.

According to an independent investigation , two members of the SERB movement, Alexander Petrunko and Alexei Kulakov, attacked Alexei Navalny on April 27. Then the politician was doused with green paint. Later it was reported that was probably added another caustic substance to it. The police suspended the criminal investigation into the attack due to the fact that "it is impossible to identify the perpetrators."
