Samfa Sisey received Mercury Prize

The winner of the Mercury Prize music award, annually awarded for the best album of Great Britain and Ireland, was the London singer, composer and producer of Samfa Sisey. He was awarded for the debut album "Process".

Alt-J, The Big Moon, Blossoms , Loyla Carner, Dinosaur, Glass Animals, Jus Hus , Ed Shiran, Stormzy , Cate of Tempens and The XX , also claimed the Mercury Prize 2017 .

Samfa collaborated with SBTRKT , Jesse War, Drake, Frank Osushen, Solange, Beyoncé and Kanye West, in 2010 and 2013 released two mini-albums.

The musician worked on his first studio album for about three years. “Process” was released on an independent London Young Turks label in February 2017, took the 7th position in the British album chart, 51st in the Billboard 200 and the 21st chart in the American list of the best albums in the R&B genre and hip-hop.

The Mercury Prize prize was established in 1992. The winner is determined by the jury composed of representatives of the musical industry.
