One of the most notable innovations in the iPhone X was the facial recognition technology of the device owner called Face ID.

The smartphone is scheduled to hit the market on November 3, but users are already actively discussing the reliability and security of using Face ID, as well as ways to hack the system. At the same time, special masks have already appeared on sale in the Chinese online store Taobao, which should protect the user from attempts to unlock the iPhone X using his face (for example, when he is sleeping), writes TJ .

Apparently, initially the masks, which cost from 200 to 7800 rubles, had a different purpose, but now the description states that they should protect the owner of the iPhone X from unlocking the smartphone without his knowledge. It is worth noting that at the presentation, Apple representatives stated that for Face ID to work, the user must look at the scanner.

Let us recall that during a demonstration of the capabilities of Face ID, Apple Senior Vice President Craig Federighi was unable to unlock the iPhone X using his face the first time. This brief episode of the presentation attracted a lot of attention from the media and the public, but the company later explained that Face ID was trying to recognize the faces of Apple employees who were preparing the smartphone for the presentation. After several unsuccessful attempts to identify Federighi's face, the device, as expected, asked for a password.
