
The Central Election Commission Mari El recognized the results of the election of the head of the region. Alexander Evstifeev officially became the new leader of the republic. This became known at a meeting of the CEC of Mari El on September 15.
For this winning candidate nominated by the regional branch of United Russia and supported by the Communist Party of the Communist Party, more than 208 thousand residents of the republic voted (88.27% of the total number of voters who came to the elections).
According to the CEC of Mari El, on the day of voting, the commission received three complaints from voters. Two of them were recognized as unfounded, and one (clarification of the address in the list of voters of the precinct commission) - partially confirmed.
The candidate from Fair Russia Natalya Glushchenko said that in the past elections there was no “war of compromising evidence”, like two years ago. The struggle was honest. She wished professionalism to members of territorial and precinct election commissions.
The candidate from the Party of Pensioners Valentin Zlobin said that the election results reflect the real state of affairs.
LDPR candidate Albert Fedorov noted that "there was a struggle, we see the result."
On September 21, the inauguration of Alexander Evstifeev will be held.
His closest competitor Albert Fedorov received only 5% of support. Evstifeev was appointed Acting Head of Mari El in April 2017 after the resignation of Leonid Markelov , who is now in jail on charges of bribe.
