A Yak-130 military aircraft crashed on September 16 near the airfield in Borisoglebsk (Voronezh region), the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
Both pilots successfully ejected and made contact. “Nothing threatens their life and health,” the ministry said. The Ministry of Defense stressed that the crew managed to take the plane away from the buildings.
According to an Interfax source, "an emergency failure of engine systems could have been the cause of the incident."
In which region the plane crashed is unclear. An Interfax source said that the plane did not crash in the Voronezh region, but in the neighboring Novonikolaevsky district of the Volgograd region.
