Volunteers from Navalny's headquarters detained in Rostov were released from the police

Five volunteers from the Rostov campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny, who were detained today while walking around the city, have been released from the police. They themselves reported this to OVD-Info.

The detainees were taken to the police department of the Proletarsky district of Rostov without being told the reason for the detention. A lawyer who came to provide legal assistance to the detainees was not allowed into the police department. They tried to take explanations from the detainees, but they refused, referring to Art. 51 of the Constitution. As a result, everyone was released without protocols, promising to call later to draw them up.

Five volunteers were simply walking around the city wearing T-shirts with Navalny's election campaign paraphernalia and holding balloons with the inscription "Navalny 2018" in their hands. They were stopped by a police foot patrol, along with two other people in civilian clothes, who introduced themselves as members of the criminal investigation department.
