The collegium of the Ilyichevsky City Court of the Odessa region justified the prophetic participants in the clashes of Odessa on May 2, 2014. It is reported by "Duma".
Only an episode was considered with clashes on Greek Square, which preceded the assault on the tent camp on the Kulikovo field and a fire in the house of trade unions. The court considered the defendants unproven in the participation and the organization of riots. The verdict noted that the investigation was carried out poorly.
At the same time, the court refused to take into account the testimony of the chief witness of the accusation of Alexander Posmichenko because of the "unheard of contradictions", as well as the photo and video materials presented by the prosecutor’s office, since these are copies, not originals. But photographs of the witness of the defense of Alexander Lesik and his testimony were attached to the case. In them, he claimed that the anti -Maidanists without weapons and "in beach slippers."
The verdict emphasizes that the prosecution is politically engaged: among the defendants, only pro -Russian participants in the events. At the same time, most of the dead and victims were their associates, noted in court.
The court acquitted all the defendants and ordered the release of five of them, who were under the court under arrest.
The court building was numbered by the employees of the National Guard and the police. Immediately after the announcement of the verdict, the prosecutors and the SBU repeatedly detained Sergey Oklokov, whom the state prosecution considers the organizer of the riots, and the Russian citizen Yevgeny Mephedov. He will be charged with violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine in connection with participation in shares in the spring of 2014 in Nikolaev.
The Ukrainian prosecutor's office has already stated that they would appeal the acquittal.
After the court hearing, Ukrainian activists, dissatisfied with an acquittal, began to build barricades at the court building, reports 112.ua. They tried to prevent it from taking out justified ones from there. Collisions began with the police and fighters of the National Guard. Protesters threw bottles, stones at the security forces, and threw an explosion.
As a result of the clashes, 20 police officers and 15 fighters of the National Guard suffered. The injured among activists is not reported. A criminal case of hooliganism has been instituted.
