Hackers have broken into CCleaner, one of the most popular Windows cleaning tools. The hack was discovered because the developer of CCleaner was recently bought by the antivirus company Avast. Who needed this data and why, is still unclear.

Anton Rozenberg is a former deputy technical director of VKontakte, who has known Nikolai Durov since the sixth grade. He left the social network along with the Durovs, and then sort of started helping the brothers work on Telegram. In 2017, Rosenberg, in his own words, was fired due to a conflict with Nikolai Durov (it arose out of jealousy!). Rosenberg is now suing a company he claims is owned by the Durovs. Pavel Durov himself, in a conversation with Meduza, denies working with Rosenberg on Telegram: “I can’t fire a person who didn’t work for me.”
