UPD: Meduza reported that information about the court decision turned out to be unreliable. The activist herself told the publication that the hearing in her case was postponed due to technical errors.
The Kirovsky District Court of Samara fined activist Evdokia Romanova 100 thousand rubles. She was found guilty of promoting non-traditional sexual relations among minors (Part 2 of Article 6.21 of the Administrative Code), writes Meduza.
The reason for initiating a case against Romanova was publications on LGBT topics on Facebook and VKontakte, including texts from the British publication The Guardian and the American BuzzFeed. In total, the case contains five links and reposts.
In July, the activist was summoned to the police department, allegedly to give testimony. There Romanova was informed that an administrative case had been opened against her.
In June 2017, the European Court of Human Rights recognized the article on the promotion of non-traditional sexual relations as discriminatory. The Justice Department appealed the decision in September.
