Former Imam of the Moscow Yardi Mosque Sheikh Mahmud Velitov, sentenced to three years in a general regime in a fabricated case of public justification of terrorism, is reflected from the capital's pre-trial detention center-1 "sailor silence" to Vologda. This was announced on his FB page by the lawyer of the political prisoner Dagir Khasavov.
Since during the investigation of Velitov for more than six months he was under house arrest, and after the verdict for almost five months was contained in jail, just on Tuesday he left a third of his term - one year - and received the right to petition for parole. Shortly before the transfer of the Politsyk, he turned to the Sailor Silence Administration with a request to issue the characteristics necessary to send a request for UDO to the court.
It was now that Khasavov explained to the sending of his client to the stage precisely by the desire of the FSINESS to disrupt the parole.
The publication of the lawyer does not specify whether Velitov will serve the deadline in the Vologda region or if he will only temporarily be placed in the pre-trial detention center-2 in the regional center, then to be sent to another region. If the first is true, then in any case, they will not leave the political prisoner in Vologda, since there are no male colonies of the general regime. Two such institutions operate in the region: IK-3 in Veliky Ustyug and IK-20 in Ustyuzhn .
The reason for the persecution of Velitov was Khutba (Friday sermon), read by him in the mosque on September 23, 2013 in memory of the Dagestan cleric in Abdullah Gappaev, who was killed in Kizlyar a week earlier, on the 16th. As stated in the case, Gappaev was in the Hizb Ut-Tahrir, and therefore Velitov, with his performance, sought "the formation of a positive image of an extremist organization."
At the same time, Khasava’s lawyer insisted that Imam did not know about Gappev’s membership in Hizb Ut-Tahrir, and in addition, the deceased belonging to this party is not confirmed by anything but information on her website.
On July 11, 2016, Velitov was detained by TSPE operatives and managed by deception in the presence of an appointed lawyer. The next day, he was sent under house arrest, from which he was released on a recognizance of a loss on February 22, 2017, at the end of the investigation. The case was conducted by the senior investigator of the Butyrsky intercourse of the capital's head of the TFR Nikita Ratnikov. Initially, it was qualified under part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code (public justification of terrorism using the media); Later, the prosecution was softened by imputing the clergy of part 1 of the same article (without the qualifying attribute "use of the media").
Velitov’s process was held in April of this year in the Moscow District Military Court. Imam at the hearing completely rejected guilt. On April 28, after the sentence is announced, the cleric was taken into custody in the courtroom .
On August 1, the College for the Affairs of the Supreme Court of the Supreme Court as part of Alexander Voronov, Oleg Derbilov and Alexander Zamashnyuk confirmed the verdict of Politzeku .
Velitov is 66 years old, he is a disabled person of group II, previously suffered a heart attack and a stroke. In mid -July, it was reported that the Politzek was urgently hospitalized in the medical unit of "sailor silence" with pain in the heart and numbness of the leg. Later it turned out that Imam also suffers from stones in both kidneys.
