In the clashes of the Ilyichevsky City Court of the Odessa region, bodily injuries of varying severity were received by 20 police officers and 15 fighters of the National Guard. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on a page on Facebook.

"The participants in the action violated public order, sprayed tear gas in the direction of police officers, threw explosive bags and threw the police officers and a service bus with paving slabs," the police said. On the fact of the incident, the police opened a criminal case under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism committed using weapons).

The riots arose on Monday evening, after the court acquitted 19 participants in clashes on the Greek Square of Odessa on May 2, 2014. The five defendants under arrest were released in the courtroom. Ukrainian activists, dissatisfied with the verdict, tried to prevent the police from taking the courts released from the building.

Nevertheless, the police managed to take out the acquitted participants in the process in the car Zakak along with their wives and lawyers, the Duma reports .

Two more defendants, Sergey Drezkov, whom the state prosecution considers the organizer of the riots, and the Russian citizen Evgeny Mephedov, was detained in the courtroom immediately after the verdict is announced. They were delivered to the Kyiv district court of Odessa, who satisfied the request of the regional prosecutor’s office for the conclusion of Okhokov and Mephedov. He was announced suspicion under part 2 of Article 100 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (public calls for changing borders and territories of the country) in connection with participation in shares in the spring of 2014 in Nikolaev.

At night, one of the justified by the court, Evgeny Grishchuk, was attacked by unknown people, according to Duma. The man pierced his head. He is hospitalized.

On Monday, the Ilyichevsk City Court considered the pro -Russian activists unproven guilty in the participation and organization of riots on May 2, 2014. The verdict noted that the investigation was carried out poorly. At the same time, the court refused to take into account the testimony of the chief witness of the accusation of Alexander Posmichenko because of the "unheard of contradictions", as well as the photo and video materials presented by the prosecutor’s office, since these are copies, not originals. But photographs of the witness of the defense of Alexander Lesik and his testimony were attached to the case. In them, he claimed that the anti -Maidanists without weapons and "in beach slippers."

The verdict emphasized that the prosecution was politically engaged: among the defendants, only pro -Russian participants in the events. At the same time, most of the dead and victims were their associates, noted in court.

"The prosecutor’s office categorically does not agree with the indicated court decision, which grossly violates the norms of the law, and is already preparing an appeal," the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Odessa region reports .

The court considered only an episode with clashes on Greek Square on May 2, 2014. As a result of the clashes, six people died there. The police not only did not interfere with the riots, but also covered the anti -Maidan people who used firearms.

In the future, skirmishes moved to the house of trade unions on the Kulikovo field, where the headquarters of Antimaydan was located. Some of the anti -Maidanists were inside the building. Later, a fire began in the building. Several people died from burns and injuries obtained when trying to jump out of the windows, the majority died from poisoning by combustion products. In total, 48 people became victims of clashes on May 2. The cases of the death of people in the Kulikovo field are allocated in a separate production.
