Palace Square in St. Petersburg was evacuated

In St. Petersburg, Palace Square was evacuated due to an anonymous call about a bomb, Interfax reports citing a source.

According to Fontanka, the call turned out to be false. The left bag contained personal belongings.

On the eve of the large cities of Russia, mass evacuations again took place . In Moscow, there were reports of “mining” of 16 buildings. In Yekaterinburg, the administration, two shopping centers, and the city circus were checked. In Voronezh, employees of the regional Duma were evacuated due to reports of "mining".

Because of anonymous calls, a criminal case was initiated under article 207 of the Russian Criminal Code (telephone terrorism).

RBC, citing sources in law enforcement agencies , reported that an international hacker group could be behind the massive calls about planted bombs in different cities of Russia. At the same time, "calls were identified as calls made from Brussels."
