1792 Proclamation of France as a republic

225 years ago, on September 21, 1792, the National Convention began its work in France. On the same day, he adopted a decree on the abolition of royal power and the establishment of a republic. The decree stated:

"There shall be no other constitution than that which shall be adopted by the people. Persons and property are under the protection of the French people. The National Convention declares that laws which have not been repealed shall remain temporarily in force and persons not removed from office shall remain in office. The National Convention declares that the taxes now in force will continue to be levied. The National Convention decrees that the monarchy in France is abolished."
