Representatives of Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine signed an agreement in which they confirmed that joint efforts will achieve the punishment of the guilty of the MH-17 flight disaster. This was reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands.

These five countries are already working together in a joint investigative group (JIT), which is engaged in a criminal investigation of the death of the Malaysian Boeing-777 in eastern Ukraine in 2014. "Having signed this agreement, the parties confirmed their commitment to the assessment of the charges and the organization of the trial against the suspects and agreed to continue cooperation to fulfill the UN Security Council of the UN 2166," the report said.

"JIT is committed to the guilty to be punished, and this agreement is a direct evidence of this. In July, we decided that the accusations will be made in the Netherlands under the Dutch laws, but with active support and from the world community. In the end, this is done in the interests of not only the Dutch victims of the tragedy, but also all the other people who died in a plane crash. People should not remain unpunished, ”said Bert Kunders, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

On July 5, the countries entering the JIT decided that the Boeing disaster case will be considered by the Dutch court under the norms of the Criminal Code of the Netherlands . As an alternative, the possibility of the formation of a special international tribunal was considered. However, the participants of the investigation group eventually abandoned this idea of ​​the country.

Meanwhile, the investigation in the case continues, and in the near future the process will not begin. In Malaysia, they expressed the hope that by the end of this year only the names of the suspects would be officially announced.

Boeing, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down on July 17, 2014. All 298 people who were on board were killed: 283 passengers, most of the Netherlands, and 15 crew members.

In September last year, the International Investigative Group submitted a second report on the crash of the liner . It was established, it was said in the document that the missile shot down the plane was released from the Buk anti-aircraft missile system, which was 6 kilometers from the city of Snezhnoye. "Buk" was delivered to Ukraine from Russia, and after the Boeing disaster was returned back.

The chief prosecutor of the Netherlands Fred Westerbeke pointed out that more than 100 persons can be involved in the death of Boeing-777. At the same time, he noted that the prosecutor noted that it was not yet established on whose order the crew of Buk acted.

In early June, the current investigative group B Ellingcat published the final evidence that the Buk was attributed to the Russian 53rd anti-aircraft missile brigade deployed near Kursk (military unit No. 32406). The air defense system was delivered to the Ukrainian border on June 23-25, 2014. The Russian lieutenant, serge and two ordinary people, was said in a report, crossed the border of Ukraine along with Buk. Bellingcat also determined the circle of senior officers who could give the order and the commanders responsible for the operation.
