The Americans are whistling

The American embassy in Ukraine offered citizens of the Russian Federation who did not have time to get a visa in the United States in Moscow, apply for permission to enter the Consulate General in Kyiv. To do this, the applicant needs to arrive in the Ukrainian capital, get any address of stay (even a hotel), pay for a visa fee at a Ukrainian bank and get a document in the same consulate. A very simple procedure is much easier to go for a visa from Moscow to Kyiv than to fly from Vladivostok to Moscow. Even after the termination of direct aviation communication between Russia and Ukraine, the train between the two capitals is the same night. There are no problems, so why do many in Moscow and Kyiv call the appeal of American diplomats mockery?

Because this is a mockery.

Just not American. The US Embassy simply fulfills protocol duties - nothing more. Consulate General in Kyiv is the closest to Moscow. The Americans are not mocking, the Kremlin is mocking. This whole story is a wonderful illustration of what the Russian authorities created with their citizens and with their own country. A few years ago, it was difficult to imagine that receiving an American visa for a Russian would become such a problem that for permission to enter the entrance to another country. A few years ago, no one in Russia would have believed that a trip to Kyiv - a city where Muscovites and Petersburgers went on the weekend - will be perceived as a serious political test. And that not only in America the Russian may now not let in, but also to Ukraine. And that in order to get to America, it will be necessary to first go to Ukraine, which is not so simple because of the lack of direct air traffic - well, it already looked like a joke. And now this is no longer a joke. Putin did.

Let's just restore the chronology of events. President Barack Obama sends from the United States a group of saboteurs with diplomatic dishes who participated in special operations with interference in the American elections. Putin does not react. He is sure that everything “nurses” everything with the new American President Donald Trump, who publicly approved the unwillingness of Russia to respond to Obama's sanctions. Over time, Putin's confidence disappears - but the resentment of Trump, who did not justify the Kremlin hopes, intensifies. And then it is decided to reduce the composition of the American diplomatic mission in Moscow. The fact that the first victim of this reduction will be the Consular Service is in the Kremlin to few people are interested in. Moreover, few people understand this there. For people like Putin, the embassy is primarily a reconnaissance and sabotage center, and they are right in its own way: any Russian embassy is a truly intelligence and sabotage center, diplomacy and sabotage in the Russian political consciousness are merged together. But only the Americans also give out visas to the thousands of Russians - and now the deadlines for issuing these visas are seriously shifted.

And then the Americans remind you that there is also an embassy in Kyiv: WelCome! There is nothing unusual in this. British visas are placed in Warsaw, and not in Kyiv, to the same Ukrainians. But Kyiv for the Muscovite is by no means the same as Warsaw for a Kievite. Because the Kremlin not only intervened in the American elections. He still intervened into the very existence of Ukraine. The Russian will have to come to the city, where memorial boards died in the war with his country on the walls of houses. And this war is by no means finished. It is clear that in this situation Ukraine is visited by those who understand Russia's responsibility for this war. And they are not at all for American visas. But not the Americans are to blame for this!

The Kremlin deprived Americans with the opportunity to work with Russian applicants. And the Americans only offer these applicants a logistics option. And they demonstrate - not wanting it themselves - as far as the Russian government is hostile to any logistics and any logic.
