On Wednesday, September 20, in the capital of Chechnya, a meeting of employees of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova with representatives of the power structures of Chechnya: the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor's Office took place. The purpose of the meeting is to establish the fate of the Chechens, about which the New Gazeta spoke in the materials about extrajudicial reprisals in the republic.
It was possible to find out that three of the residents of Chechnya mentioned by the “new newspaper” died as a result of clashes on December 18 (attack on Grozny).
Two - died their death. The representative of the apparatus Moskalkova Ivan Solovyov went to the village of Gekhi and Kurchal, where he met with the relatives of the dead. They presented death certificates and asked them not to disturb them anymore.
Also, the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs and SK opened 12 criminal cases, the defendants of which were wanted in connection with terrorist intentions, and some have already been arrested in absentia. All of them were mentioned in the list of Novaya Gazeta.
“These are not the materials that remain for history, work will continue on them,” Ivan Solovyov promised from the Ombudsman apparatus. He got acquainted with the materials of affairs personally.
Tatyana Moskalkova herself said that she did not intend to ignore the audit conducted by the Novaya Gazeta circulation to the Investigative Committee for the North Caucasus Federal District: “We remained unsatisfied with the duration of the audit conducted by the SK in the North Caucasus Federal District.”
To the question of the Novaya Gazeta about the prospects for the conclusion of the investigation of the criminal case outside Chechnya, she replied: “The law obliges to observe the investigation. But we are looking for the possibility of withdrawing materials to the central apparatus. The authorized person has the appropriate right - and I will use it. An employee who will take control of this issue will be sent to Pyatigorsk. ”
Recall that in July, New Gazeta published a list of 27 Chechens, telling that they were supposedly shot on the night of January 26, 2017 in Grozny with the participation of employees of the security forces of Chechnya. The message reached the federal level: Moskalkova told President Vladimir Putin about the need to check these data during a working meeting, and Putin asked the law enforcement agencies to assist the Ombudsman Commission. Chechen authorities denied the information of Novaya Gazeta.
