One of the most popular information portals of America Politico published the results of a public opinion poll conducted in 47 countries of Europe. The super -task of the sociological study is not devoid of originality: the authors wanted to find out in which places of the vast mood of the mood of voters are such that politicians like Donald Trump can come to the feed of power there. There was a certain rating of "Trumpness", Trumpability Index . Given the difficulties of the translation, I will clarify for clarity that this refers not to love for a particular person Trump, but a general typological tendency to such former and future historical characters. The first ten of the most trim -loving countries the portal and presented to the public, providing his own clarifications such as arguments.
Despite the allegedly representative focus group, the results, as the editors emphasize, turned out to be "purely unscientific." On the part of the publishers, this is excessive modesty. Doubtful package always gives a result that does not represent a special scientific value. The left -barrel position of the portal, its supranatal, from the room to the room, the criticism of the American president, torn from all rationality, determined the angle of view, under which readers are invited to evaluate a non -trivial problem. It goes without saying that it is shameful to occupy the upper places in such a rating by definition. That society, marked by high amenity, is backward, obscurantist, democratically underdeveloped. It easily lends itself to the temptation of nationalism, extremism, racism, sexism and other low -experts. Such a society, nailed to the shameful pillar of sociological science, should, in theory, show flaws in the most national character: to be prone to dictatorship and leadership, to have underdeveloped civilian institutions, not enough free press - in a word, slave instincts should prevail in its character. And as a result, there will be a general lag in all technical and cultural areas.
At the very top of the rating, the Czech Republic unexpectedly found herself. This, of course, creates a certain discomfort for its compilers. Most likely, it is a monstrous stretch that makes them confess to the "pure unsuccessfulness" of the entire structure. Even a novice historian knows that Czech society was by all conceivable standards quite democratically when the editorial board of the Politico portal, as they say, had not yet got off the trees. But the logic of subjective bias is stronger than the logic of facts. Czechs, from time immemorial endowed with skepticism and inclined to look at everything from the bell tower of common mind, perceive the Komsomol enthusiasm of the American writing fraternity with great distrust. They simply could not help but be in the most shameful first place in this fictitious indicator, bypassing such noble trump people as Russia, Turkey and even Azerbaijan-not to mention Poland and Hungary, which had failed somewhere in the middle of the leaders group. The advanced detachment of lagging countries is closed by France and Great Britain, which scored an equal number of points. They have something to think about. Judging by the fact that in the top ten states like Germany or Austria did not fall, they must be lying somewhere at the bottom of the rating, which is natural, given their centuries-old traditions of tolerance and humanism.
It is impossible to doubt the US right to judge the state of democracy in the world - this is the right of birthright. But here there is an annoying inconsistency: it is not clear where to take the authors of the study themselves. After all, they evaluate the threat of conditional "trumpism" in other states from the perspective of a society, which has already chosen real Trump by its president. It turns out that the Czech Republic, with all its fatal imperfection, is the first bad among others, but still the second after America. The dream of reason gives rise to monsters, a vicious approach gives rise to irresistible internal contradictions.
Many contemporaries suffer from pathological dependence on reading newspapers and news information of their favorite television channels. The presentation and biased interpretation of facts determines the content of their consciousness. Where the initial positions of the media are quite diverse, it does not particularly injure the reader or viewer. In the United States, where the press in the vast majority of a consciously party party, falling out of the usual mud stream of news usually causes the syndrome of withdrawal, in the Russian colloquial, called "breaking". From a thinking creature, such a person easily turns into a product of technological processing. It’s hard to believe in the veracity of alternative interpretations - all the more so since both the neighbors in the house and the university colleagues think as a whole as he is. The academic logic suggests itself, which was shared with me by a familiar professor from Boston: "The elections have only rudely gathered in our country - for example, I have not met a person who would vote for the Republicans in my life." The product, of course, does not allow the thought that it is a product. He imagines that general education and intellectual horizons reliably protect him from external manipulation. This, unfortunately, is not so - education itself has not saved anyone either from tragic delusions, or even from complicity in crimes. The only protective mechanism, albeit not one hundred percent, but still working, is healthy skepticism.
A fundamental refusal to verify the facts does not contribute to the identification of the truth - on the contrary, it makes it indescribable, insignificant, and therefore not worthwhile search
The American news consumer today receives all the information about the world from anonymous sources - others have been transferred. From the once serious, now yellowed press of refutation or apologies for slander and reservation disappeared as a genre. In the camp of engaged journalism, the statement sometimes sounds that the right to use anonymous sources is the main thing of all the rights of free printing. This is a typical half -truth, darkening the essence of the matter: the Boulevard Press is free, publishing the materials of the OBS agency ("One Baba said"), and a serious publication, of course, is obliged to double -check the facts twice in order to distinguish the past. There is no need to prove that the fundamental refusal to verify the facts does not contribute to the identification of the truth - on the contrary, it makes it an indescribable, insignificant, which means not worthwhile. In a word, this is a way to conceal the truth.
What does such a consumer know about his country "correctly chewed" information? He knows that with the advent of Trump to the White House, America’s affairs go through a stump-column, but in general it is bad, and on all fronts at once. Investors run from the American market, not wanting to invest in the national economy of the period of decline. Another soap bubble swells on the exchanges, which will be pierced sooner or later. The dollar is about a third more expensive than its real purchasing power, which complicates the export of goods. Industry suffers from a lack of labor while the nonsense old President is trying to squeeze the flow of new immigrants-potential missing workers. Trump does not fulfill his own pre -election promises: he did not build a wall on the Mexican border, the Obamovs system did not cancel, the tax reform fell ill. Even the weather has deteriorated with him, and the suspicion suggests that nature itself punishes him for exit from the Paris climatic agreement. In the light of bad news, it is no wonder that the president’s support is melting like a snowman in the spring. And the impeachment of Trump is not to pass, although it is still difficult to say when and for what exactly he will have to drive in a member.
The gloomy picture, which is reflected in the crooked mirror of the party press, has almost nothing to do with reality. The volume of direct investment in the American economy is growing. The cost of the national currency is probably overstated, but speculators willingly buy it at this price, the course fluctuates in a narrow range. The power of the dollar reflects the attractiveness of the United States. Exchange indices after Trump came to power took off by 15%, and only God knows whether this bubble will be a puncture in the foreseeable future or will become a long -playing trend. In the meantime, the Americans on the growth of shares earned more than 4 trillion dollars. Such money on the street is not lying. GDP grows steadily, in the third quarter the growth was 2.6%, according to the results of the year, the IMF expects an increase of 3%. This is twice as much as the forecast for the eurozone. The reform of taxation, most likely, will be even more appropriate for entrepreneurs-according to many economists, the 4 percent growth promised by Trump is quite achievable. Unemployment of 4 and a half percent is structural, that is, it is, as it were, in nature. The Eurozone can only dream of such a level, having twice the higher unnoticed population.
The Mexican wall may not have to be erected at all - it was enough to threaten so that illegal immigration was reduced by tens of percent and almost resolved. After all, the meaning of the election promise was not in the number of laid bricks, but in cleaning the Augish stables that have developed around this problem. To cancel the current healthcare system, Trump still has enough time if you recall that Obama needed it for a whole year to pushing it. As for the falling popularity of the US President, the journalists themselves have long ceased to believe in this horror story - the average support level in 40% has not changed for all agencies. Each sociologist knows that stable support for forty percent of the voters in the elections means more than the slurred 56% of dissatisfied. The former know who they will vote for, the latter are quarreled and marked by the selection of an alternative candidate.
The authors of the Politico portal are no worse than me and I know the reasons why the phenomenon of "Trumpness" is worshiped in different societies. Yes, they themselves lead these reasons in the entry to publication. The existing party system is undergoing a deepest crisis and is not able to reproduce worthy candidates. Parties are propagated by division, like ciliates. The system is fixed and pushed into the cocoon. Life has left it like hot air from an airship. The voter was tired of the apparent diversity of the same thing, he feels that the centers, where decisions are made about the most important, disappeared beyond the horizon. Who is younger, emigrated to the blogosphere. Adventurers make their way to the feed of power, creating at the occasion of momentary political remakes, consisting of any rabble according to the Mala Land system. The coherent, thought-out programs have long been replaced by postmodern cries, meaningless, but life-affirming slogans-like “forward, republic!”, With the options “Forward, Russia!”, “Forward, Italy!”, “Yes, we can!”, “We are still wow!”, “We will show you all!”. And what can we and what exactly will we show? You will never have to report to voters: such formations have short breathing, before the first elections.
The generation of "non -bibiemers", the former "children of flowers" and rebels, although it turned out to be insolvent in all respects, can not be torn away from the authorities, except to take his feet forward. All kinds of “millennials”, generations X, Y and Z , are not interested in politics, they are not needed for nothing, only distracts from computer games. Politics instead of action is engaged in hooking, filling out reports on the work done. Barack Obama only over the past year of his stay in the White House published 93 thousand pages of all sorts of circulars, prescriptions and valuable instructions. Those who will cancel them, the former president provided their job before retirement.
A well -known business: where there are no legal opportunities to influence the current policy, the protest takes radical and even bizarre forms. Where there are still such opportunities, you can wait for Trump. He does not require love and worship - it is enough to understand that he does not split the society in half, but he himself is a product of such a split.
Absolutely the same problems are burdened by Europeans today. And here there was an acute request for cool political changes. The answer can be as much erroneous and even false, but there is nothing worse than the inability of society generally respond to an acute need. The "Trumpness" index should be read otherwise than its frivolous compilers do. The countries of the German type are more intimidating than an attractive example, and this is not about the average well -being, not about hard work and cordiality of the population. A society that has fallen into catatonia of political correctness, amorphous and at the same time fossilized, where there is no internal dynamics and freely ventilated contradictions - such a society that does not know and does not want to know its future can cause only compassion, but also a fear of neighbors. The first gap test will show that rotten fabric breaks up into dust. Eternally notorious Germans, as the Die Welt newspaper wrote, remain the only non -European people in Europe: unlike all others, they do not know how and are afraid to determine their national identity. They are satisfied with the role of inhabitants, human mass, the population, united only by the common territory belonging to everything separately. Their suspicious tolerance is just a form to everything indifferent non -resistance, a rejection of the right to their own fate. From here is just a step to the opposite extreme. The arrival of Trump, of course, does not threaten them - this is not the leader that is generated by inferiority complexes. In the Czech Republic, on the contrary, such an answer to a public request is quite conceivable - here the people are alive, mobile, but without animal seriousness. And in this case, the neighbors have nothing to fear: sooner or later, the features of the brave soldier Schweik will tear in every Czech Trump.
