More than 500,000 people have signed a petition calling on the London authorities not to take away the license to transport passengers from the Uber app.
“[London’s] decision not to renew Uber’s license will put more than 40,000 professional drivers out of work, and millions of Londoners will lose a convenient and affordable mode of transport,” the Change.org petition reads.
The petition managed to collect 500,000 signatures in less than a day.
The petition was launched by the London division of Uber, which also sent letters to users of the application asking them to sign this petition, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The management of the London Uber in a letter promised that the decision of the city authorities not to renew the license would be appealed.
