1957. Racial crisis in a liter rock

60 years ago, on September 24, 1957, US President Dwight Eisenhower sent 1,200 soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division to the racists of nine black schoolchildren visiting the local general school to the liter-rock (Arkansas). Previously, the National Guard of the state blocked their access to school for 19 days, since the governor was a supporter of racial segregation. For two months, the paratroopers accompanied black schoolchildren to school and vice versa, and also guarded them in school corridors.
