The Russian Defense Ministry announced that US special forces are in Syria in territories controlled by the Islamic State and feel "completely safe." This, according to the Russian department, follows from satellite images of the area east of Deir ez-Zor.
The photographs provided by the Department of Defense show, allegedly, Hummer armored vehicles, which are "in service with US special forces." According to Moscow, they are being used by US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters, who are converging on Deir ez-Zor.
Since there are no signs of combat clashes in the pictures, this means that those who move on the Hummers are not opponents of ISIS, the Ministry of Defense concludes. The department does not provide any other signs indicating that the photographs depict “strongholds of US Armed Forces units” or American special forces.
Despite the fact that the strongholds of the US Armed Forces are located in the areas of the current deployment of ISIS units, they do not even have signs of the organization of combat guards. This can only mean that all US military personnel stationed there feel completely safe in areas held by terrorists.
