The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow sentenced the coordinator of the “Left Front” Sergei Udaltsov to five days of arrest for the “Anti-Capitalism 2017” action, said on Twitter. co-chairman of the unregistered “Other Russia” party Alexander Averin
Udaltsov himself wrote that the judge refused to grant all his requests, hear the testimony of witnesses and watch the video of the arrest. The activist was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (organizing a mass event without filing a notification). After the decision was announced, the coordinator of the Left Front said that he did not agree with it and went on a hunger strike.
Udaltsov was detained on September 23 on Strastnoy Boulevard in the center of Moscow along with the leader of the Other Russia Eduard Limonov, Averin and more than thirty other activists. Udaltsov and five other activists were left at the police station overnight; reports were drawn up for 41 people.
Members of the Left Bloc movement also tried to hold the “Anti-Capitalism” action in Barvikha, near Moscow. Eight people were detained, one of them, Taslima Ramazanova, had already received 10 days in the Odintsovo District Court of the Moscow Region under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer).
According to Averin , on September 25, five activists of the Other Russia were brought to the Tverskoy District Court, who are going to be tried for Saturday’s action.
