The mother of a disabled miner was detained in Moscow

Vera Shikhova, the mother of a disabled miner, was detained outside the reception building of the President of the Russian Federation, seeking social benefits for her son. This was reported by Alexander Zimbovsky on the OVD-Info hotline.

Shikhova stood with a poster in a single picket, but the police considered that some person who was running around Shikhova with a folded piece of paper was also participating in the action. The detainee was taken to the Kitay-Gorod police department.

UPD 20:18 Vera Shikhova was released from the police department at about 7 pm, she was charged with violating the rules for participating in a picket (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Alexander Zimbovsky told OVD-Info about this by phone.

Vera Shikhova has been traveling to Moscow for five years and holding solo pickets demanding that her son Alexander be given a disability group and social benefits. The son of Vera Shikhova in 2010 was seriously injured at the Ziminka mine in the city of Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo Region, but the company's management refuses to admit that Alexander was injured at work.
