The Volgograd Regional Court at a preliminary hearing changed the measure of restraint for the coordinator of the local headquarters of Alexei Navalny, Alexei Volkov. He was released from house arrest, taking a written undertaking not to leave, according to Volkov's twitter.
The Federal Penitentiary Service requested that the coordinator be taken into custody. The defense asked to release Volkov on bail of 300 thousand rubles - the maximum fine under the article imputed to him.
The trial will take place on October 2nd.
Aleksey Volkov is charged under Part 3 of Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code (public desecration of the symbol of Russia's military glory) for the picture with the monument "Motherland" in greenery. On August 31, Volkov was placed under house arrest. Before that, he was under house arrest, but left for Moscow. According to Volkov, the investigator verbally allowed him to travel. On September 18, the complaint about house arrest was rejected , and the preventive measure was upheld.
