In Ufa, police go to the houses of participants in a rally for the resignation of the head of the republic

In Ufa, police officers go to the homes of activists who took part in rallies in defense of the Bashkir language (September 16) and for the resignation of the head of the republic (September 21), and try to draw up administrative offense reports against them, while refusing to issue subpoenas. It is reported by "Idel. Realities".

Zulfiya Gaysina, one of the rally participants, writes on her Facebook: “Police officers came to my house with the intention of drawing up a protocol against me for participating in a public event in defense of the Bashkir language. We were very eager to enter the apartment. I got a call from an investigator from the police department by the name of Yakhina, she couldn’t tell me anything intelligible, but I offered her to send me a summons. According to her, the police came to her house for three days in a row, saying that "they were given a command from the administration of the head of the region."

The executive director of the Congress of the Bashkir People, Valiakhmet Badretdinov, also spoke on his Facebook page about the visit of the policemen home: “On Sunday, September 24, at about 19:30 in the evening, they knocked on the inner door of my apartment, they said that they had come from the housing department. I slightly opened the door, but finding that several people I did not know were standing in the hallway, I tried to slam the door. But the man standing in front, putting his foot up, did not allow me to close the door. He announced that he was a police officer from the 6th Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the city of Ufa. He announced that they would draw up a protocol on an administrative offense against me. However, nothing was said about what kind of violation it was. All these strangers were in civilian clothes.”

On September 16, after the rally “In defense of the Bashkir language”, policemen came to the home of the three organizers and took them to the police department. On September 18, the court fined Fail Alsynov and Ruslan Gabbasov 20,000 rubles each for “violating the established procedure for holding a public event” (Part 5, Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).

On September 21, the Ufa mayor's office refused to agree on a rally planned for the same day for the resignation of the head of the republic; on September 22, the court arrested Amir Tuygunov, one of the organizers of the action, for five days. Kamil Mukhamedyanov was arrested for seven days. Amir Tuygunov was also fined 10,000 rubles for violating the procedure for holding the rally (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
