In Moscow on Komsomosky Prospekt, unknown people threw a bottle with an incendiary mixture into a memorial plate installed at the place of the murder of Colonel of the Russian Army Yuri Budanov. This was reported by the Moscow Agency with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.

"The arrived operatives found out that at the indicated address, a woman in a hijab and a man threw a bottle of incendiary mixture -" Molotov cocktail "towards the monument, after which a fire occurred," the source said. Damage was discovered on the memorial.

On the night of March 27, 2000, Budanov, the commander of the 160th Guards Tank Regiment, abducted an 18-year-old local resident-schoolgirl Elsa Kungaev in the Chechen village of Tangi. Bring the girl to the military unit, he subjected her to torture, and then strangled her. Initially, Budanov was also charged with the rape of Kungaeva, but then this charge was removed from him.

On July 25, 2003, the North Caucasus District Military Court sentenced Budanov to 10 years of strict regime under articles on exceeding official powers, abduction of man and murder. Also, the convicted person was deprived of the title of colonel and the Order of Courage. The former colonel was taken to serve the term in IK-3 in Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk Region. The governor of this region was then General Vladimir Shamanov, a former commander Budanov. On January 15, 2009, the former colonel was released on parole.

On the afternoon of June 10, 2011 , Budanov was shot dead on Komsomolsky Prospekt in the center of Moscow. In May 2013, on charges of murder, Chechen Yusup Temerkhanov was convicted . He received 15 years of strict regime. At the same time, Temerhanov’s involvement in the crime has not been virtually proven.
