“Currently, work on the engineering equipment of the Russian-Ukrainian section of the border is being carried out as planned, and the construction of 50-kilometer engineering barriers in the north of Crimea is its next stage,” the department said.
On September 25, was published an announcement about a tender for the supply and installation of a full-profile barrier on the government procurement website. A fence more than two meters high and 49.5 km long will be erected in the Krasnoperekopsk region, bordering Ukraine. “The fence design must ensure high strength, durability and economical operation,” states the application documentation.
The maximum contract price is 212 million rubles. The FSB plans to complete construction this year, namely by December 20. The contractor under the contract will be determined on October 16 based on the results of the auction.
The length of the land border of Crimea with Ukraine is about 170 km (including the outlines of the shallow bays of the Azov Sea coast).
