Twitter will double the number of signs in the message

Twitter decided to double the number of permissible signs in the message. This is stated in the company's blog.

The update is available in test mode for some users. If the company approves it, then the maximum tweet length will increase to 280 signs.

Now users who write tweets in Japanese, Korean or Chinese use the service much more often, since, thanks to the features of the language, they have enough 140 characters to express a thought, the company's production manager Eliza Rosen explained.

Writing in English, users spend more time thinking about the message, it is said on the blog, and sometimes they refuse to publish it. At the same time, the average length of the messages in English is on average twice as long as in Japanese, a Rosen example led.

According to Interfax , the US President Donald Trump, actively using Twitter, is not yet available.

In 2016, tweet length was increased, refusing to count the length of links and photos. Later, the mention of other users through the minh was also removed from the count.
