Director Alexei Uchitel said on Wednesday that the rights to the script of his film "Matilda" do not belong to Olga Kulikovskaya-Romanova, a relative of Emperor Nicholas II. He added that producer Vladimir Moskalov also has no connection to the film.

The teacher explained that the film was shot based on a script by Alexander Terekhov, "there are relevant agreements." He also added that Moskalov has long been on the international wanted list and does not live in Russia.

Earlier on Wednesday, State Duma deputy Natalya Poklonskaya published on her Facebook page a claim from the widow of Nicholas II's nephew Olga Kulikovskaya-Romanova to director Uchitel regarding the copyright to the project "Matilda".

As stated in Kulikovskaya-Romanova's complaint, she filed a statement with the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Culture of Russia. In the statement, she asks the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky to revoke the license for the film's distribution, and the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika to begin an investigation into Uchitel.

According to her, she holds the copyright to the film "Matilda", which was given to her by Moskalov. Therefore, Kulikovskaya-Romanova demands that Uchitel stop showing the film about the relationship between the future Emperor Nicholas II and the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Matilda Kshesinskaya until all materials on it are agreed with her.
