The Basmann District Court of Moscow in absentia arrested the defendant "The case of the Seventh Studio", producer Ekaterina Voronov, Interfax reports . She is put on an international wanted list.
"The court satisfied the petition of the investigating authorities to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention in absentia in absentia," the press secretary of the court of Juno Tsareva said. The measure of restraint of Voronova was chosen two months from the moment of detention.
Voronova was one of the four executive producers of the performance of director Kirill Serebrennikov "A Summer Night Dream." According to the TFR, this performance was not staged, and the money allocated for it was stolen. Meanwhile, "Summer on a Summer Night" has been going on in the Gogol Center since 2012.
The fact that Voronova is accused of the theft in the "Seventh Studio"became known in August . According to the plot of the case, in 2011-2014, the Ministry of Culture allocated to Serebrennikov over 214 million rubles for the implementation of the Platform project, launched for the development and popularization of contemporary art. To embody the project, the director formed an autonomous non -profit organization "Seventh Studio".
However, the TFR says, Serebrennikov gave other defendants an indication of overstating data on the quantity and cost of events. Also, the agency claims, the director instructed to ensure the conclusion of the Seventh Studio with firms and private entrepreneurs controlled by him, including one-day companies, and fictitious agreements for the implementation of the Platform project. The funds transferred under these agreements were allegedly cashed and distributed by Serebrennikov between the defendants. The total amount of theft, which was charged to the director and other accused, is, according to the TFR, at least 68 million rubles.
The courts arrested the ex-producer of ANO "Seventh Studio" by Alexei Malobrodsky and former chief accountant Nina Maslyaeva. Serebrennikov himself and ex-director Yuri Itin are placed under house arrest. Producer Ekaterina Voronova also takes place in the case, she is put on the wanted list. All of them were charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale). The defendants do not plead guilty, with the exception of the deal with the investigation of Maslyaeva.
On September 16, it became known that the victims in the case were recognized by the Ministry of Culture . The ministry plans to file a civil lawsuit at the preliminary investigation stage with the demand to compensate for the damage caused, which estimates 68 million rubles.
