The DIA withdrew the Bankruptcy claim "VIM -Avia" - the government had not yet decided what to do with the airline

The Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA), which is the bankruptcy trustee of the liquidated Mosstroykonobank (M Bank), decided to withdraw its claim for recognition of the VIM-Avia Airline, filed by the Tatarstan Arbitration Court on September 26. The amount of claims amounted to 88.3 million rubles.

As stated in the DIA, the lawsuit was withdrawn due to the fact that the Russian government has not yet determined what to do next with the airline.

“Given the social tension that has arisen related to the activities of the VIM-Avia Airline, the bank bankruptcy trustee decided to apply to the court with a motion to return the application to the position of the government. These actions will allow us to comply with the legitimate interests of citizens and make the most effective decisions for all participants in the liquidation process,” the TASS press release, which quotes TASS.

The DIA recalled that VIM-Avia is the debtor of Mosstroykonobank (“M Bank”), from which the Central Bank of the Russian Federation withdrew the license on July 24, 2015. The decision on the review was made in connection with the non-fulfillment by the credit organization of federal laws governing banking, and regulatory acts of the Bank of Russia, as well as due to the presence of a real threat to the interests of creditors and depositors.

Currently, the Mosstroyekonbank is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, the bankruptcy trustee is the DIA, which filed lawsuits against debtors on his behalf. Earlier, this bank was controlled by Anatoly Motylev.

At the beginning of this year, the Moscow Arbitration Court decided to recover 980 million rubles from VIM-Avia at the suit of Mosstroykonobank. But in April, the court reduced the amount of recovery with VIM-Avia to 88.3 million rubles.
