On the evening of September 29, a rally was scheduled for Navalny in Nizhny Novgorod, the politician was detained at about 10 am when he left his house to go to the station. The Nizhny Novgorod City Hall first offered the site to Navalny's headquarters, but then withdrew the approval. The scene was dismantled by the police in the morning.
Against Navalny and Volkov, protocols were drawn up on repeated violations of the procedure for holding mass actions. They face a fine of 150 to 300 thousand rubles or up to 30 days of arrest.
