A man detained during a protest against censorship on YouTube was kept in police custody for one more night.

Sergei Smirnov, who was detained yesterday during an action against censorship on Youtube near the Google campaign office in Moscow, and who spent the night in the Zamoskvoretsky police station, is being left in police custody for another night. Human rights activist Alla Frolova reports this.

Yesterday, about 20 people were detained on Balchug Street, where Google has a representative office in Moscow. The action was organized by the Artpodgotovka movement.

Most of them were released without reports. Five were charged with an offense under Part 5 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event), including against Smirnov, against whom, in addition, a report was also drawn up for disobedience to a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Smirnov was supposed to be tried today, but, according to the police, they did not have time to complete all the documents correctly. Therefore, the trial will take place tomorrow.
