In Moscow, the mother of a disabled miner Vera Shikhova, who is seeking social benefits for her son, was detained near the presidential reception building. This was reported to OVD-Info by Irina Yatsenko.
Shikhova told Yatsenko that she did not stand with a poster in a single picket - it was rolled up. The detainee was brought to the Kitay-Gorod police department.
Vera Shikhova has been traveling to Moscow for five years and holding solo pickets demanding that her son Alexander be given a disability group and social benefits. The son of Vera Shikhova in 2010 was seriously injured at the Ziminka mine in the city of Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo Region, but the company's management refuses to admit that Alexander was injured at work. Shikhova is regularly detained by the police: the last detention was on September 25.
