“Here, my dear, there was nothing to brush away from me all the time and say:“ Mom, I'm busy. ” Now I’ll be pleased to come to mind, ”the 66-year-old Lyudmila, peppy, well-groomed and smiling mother Vladik laughs. When her husband and father Vladik, photographer Alexander Bendetsk, died in 1990, the 15-year-old son began to call her exclusively “mother” and you. At first she was surprised, and then got used to it. There was even something touching in this. "Mom, I love you."
When Vladik married and moved from his mother, she missed and called him all the time. “Of course, I got it with stupid questions: where I was, what I was eating, where I went. Sometimes he said his: “Mother, Leave Leave” or “Mother, I'm busy,” but after half an hour he called back all the time: “Well, mother, what did you want to talk about?” ”

Benya, as everyone called him, since childhood was a merry and soul of the company. A typical Arbat child, says Lyudmila. The academic study did not particularly develop, but it was always good with work. By the age of 36, Vladik had its own small taxi company.
On that February 2012, there was a blizzard and ice. Vladik carefully took his mother to Leroy Merlin and was about to help her choose wallpaper for repair. She dissuaded him, they say that you will be soared here for two hours, better go on business, and then you will return for me. “Mom, something is so reluctant to go anywhere,” he said. But then a friend called and asked to take her from the restaurant and take her home in her car. Good Benya agreed, he always helped her.
The restaurant was next to his house. He left his car, took the familiar and took her on her car to the house. From there he caught a taxi to his house, so that from there it was already by car to go for his mother. “I just called him and said that she was already at the checkout. “Mother, I'm fast,” he said, and for some reason something “quickly” was squeezed in my chest. ” Vladik sat in the back seat of a taxi and slammed the door.

Vladik flew out of the rear seat forward and hit his head on the dashboard. The driver escaped with easy injuries. The ambulance delivered Vladik to Sklif. Severe open traumatic brain injury, a fracture of the arch and base of the skull. Coma. First, natural, then medication with artificial ventilation of the lungs. Six months later, Vladik woke up, but was in the so -called vegetative state.
"" Mother, I'm fast, "he said, and for some reason something" quickly "sank in my chest"The culprit of the accident was recognized as a taxi driver, he received a year conditionally. He also had to pay money for the treatment of Vladik, but Lyudmila refused. “He has two children, they live well, I could not select this money from them. Yes, and did not charge any accusations. This would not change anything, ”says Lyudmila.
When Vladik came to his senses, the doctors hinted to her that her son would forever remain a “vegetable”, and asked to think about giving his organs to transplantation. “My son? To the organs? For no reason, ”said the mother and took him home. The sanitary doctor herself by profession, even she could not imagine how hard it would be.

Soap, fed from a syringe through a gastroint, changed the diaper. I got up several times a night and turned over the clock. I hired a special masseur. I bought expensive medicines that the state does not pay, carried it to examinations, which are also at my own expense. And a year later, she rented her apartment in Moscow and rented a house in the suburbs to take Vladik to walk in fresh air in the summer. At first, the money for all this was, and then ended.
“We talk a lot with him, read books, sing songs,” says the smiling Lyudmila. Her “we” is actually “I” because she talks, reads and sings - she. And Vladik lies and looks at one point. “I understand this is not visible, but I know that he is there. He is there alive inside, he understands everything. And I feel when he is cold, when he wants to eat, when he is dissatisfied, and when he laughs. And, believe me, he often laughs. ”
“I feel when he is cold, when he wants to eat, when he is dissatisfied, and when he laughs. And, believe me, he often laughs "Lyudmila is 66 years old, she is a disabled person of the second group due to diabetes. Her pension is 14 thousand rubles. Vladik pension for disability - 18 thousand rubles. With Lyudmila, a friend Nadia lives in the house, who helps her to care for her son. Lyudmila pays Nadia 30 thousand a month. A masseur comes three times a week, the hour of his work costs three thousand rubles. It turns out 36 thousand a month. The same amount goes to medicines - from muscle saving, from epilepsy, from Parkinson's disease. Without them, the legs and arms of Vladik would be even more twisted and wooden, and two -hour bouts of epilepsy would be more than once every two years, and every day.
Vladislav before illness photo: Anton Carliner/Schschi for TDPreviously, the massage was done more often, but now the money is over. And you also need a special bed with a lift. For a lying patient, a bed and the right mattress are a whole life. So that the body is in the correct position, so that it is not more pressure sore. And they no longer go to examinations in Burdenko - there is no money. To hire an ambulance with a gurney costs 16 thousand rubles only one way. The examination itself is 95 thousand rubles. If earlier there were accumulations, acquaintances helped, now - only loans.
“But the money is not the main thing,” Lyudmila will awake. - The main thing is the power of the spirit. That's when I lose her and lie down here next to him, then there will be a real grief. And now it is a technical moment. All the time I tell Vladik that when he comes to his senses, the first thing he will do is to write Roman about what he felt. It will be a great book. And then he will write another one he wants. And he will become a great writer. I know that for sure. "

- She herself has bouts of pressure, and even blood sugar always rises. God forbid something will happen to her. It’s hellishly hard for her, and God alone sees how much. Also, these loans, into which she got into. I don’t know where this woman gets so much strength.
“Naps,” Lyudmila says on the last phrase, returning to the kitchen. - This is my son, and he is alive. Better than none.
In Russia, only a few funds help adults. The Alive charity fund comes to the aid of those who refused the state and other funds. Lyudmila and Vladik, and such as them. Over the years, the fund helped almost two hundred people with similar problems. But in order for the "living" he could provide assistance, it is necessary to help survive the fund itself. We collect money for employees' salaries, for communication, gasoline, for office rental, so that people can work effectively and collect money to those in need. In particular, Vladik on a specially equipped bed.
