The defender said that what is happening is “clear censorship and violation of freedom of speech, and reference ones at that.”

An agreed rally was held in Gelendzhik on August 5, its applicants were residents of the Pushkinsky Dol settlement. On the day of the rally, the police did not make any claims to the participants and organizers of the event.

A week later, the protesters came under pressure from the authorities: the police began to visit some of them at work and call their relatives. Claims from the police were caused by the inscriptions on the posters of the activists, which they used during the action: "Kuban justice is hell!", "Mayor of Gelendzhik Khrestin - resign!" and "Judge Khakhalev - resign!"

On August 11, a protocol was drawn up against Kirill Yaroslavtsev, and on August 15 he received a subpoena . They came to work to Lyudmila Zlobina because of the rally on August 10, and on the 11th the court fined her. On August 18, the court fined Nikolai Sokol, Kirill Yaroslavtsev and Olga Botrakova. All four were accused of violating the procedure for holding a public event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Then the protocol was drawn up for one of the organizers of the event, Alexander Eremeev. According to the police, he did not stop the rally participants who came with posters insulting the authorities. On September 28, the court sentenced Eremeev to a fine of 10 thousand rubles for violating the established procedure for holding the event.
