
The Federal Security Service established the organizers of the wave of "telephone terrorism", which overwhelmed Russia since September. This was stated by the director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, RIA Novosti reports .
“We established, however, it was not just to do this - these are Russian citizens. I can definitely say - these are four people who are now abroad. There are accomplices who are located on the territory of the country. We carry out work on their search with our partners,” said Bortnikov.
Since September 11, in different cities throughout Russia, after the calls of the "telephone terrorists" , mass evacuation of administrative buildings, shopping centers and educational institutions have been held . False mining calls continue to come to this day.
During this time, almost 800 thousand people in 120 cities of Russia were evacuated. "Minored" was over 1.9 thousand buildings, in no case the threat of explosions was confirmed. The alleged damage from calls can amount to about a billion rubles.
Most calls about allegedly laid bombs come from the territory of Ukraine, interfax sources have reported. RIA Novosti sources, in turn, said that the Islamic State is behind calls. The data of sources of RBC, calls were carried out with IP addresses from Brussels, and behind them can be an "international hacker group", which will soon demand money to stop messages about explosions.
In addition to police officers, the search for "telephone terrorists" is conducted by operatives of regional UFSB, as well as specialists of the central apparatus of special services in combating terrorism, counteracting cybercrime and protecting the constitutional system.
Several people are detained. However, they turned out to be imitators who reported mining, learning about the mass telephone attack from the media and social networks. Unlike the organizers of the action, they used ordinary phones, not IP-telephony.
On September 15, Vedomosti reported that the FSB banned the press service of the law enforcement agencies to comment on mass evacuation due to the calls of “telephone terrorists”, “in order not to pump panic and not provoke others who want to engage in telephone terrorism.”
