On October 5, the Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined the head of the election headquarters of Alexei Navalny, Polina Kostyleva, 20,000 rubles on charges of organizing a rally on October 7 on the Field of Mars, Fontanka . reports
Kostyleva was found guilty of organizing a public event without filing a notification of its holding in the prescribed manner (part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of campaign leaflets that the police found at the headquarters.
Polina Kostyleva was detained on October 3. In the evening, police officers arrived at Navalny's headquarters. They stated that they had received information that leaflets with a call to participate in the action on October 7 had been pasted inside the office. The police demanded to see these leaflets, but the headquarters staff could not find them. According to the activists, everyone in the building was demanded to leave, while Polina Kostyleva was kept inside for some time and threatened that she would be deprived of her parental rights and that her children would be taken away from her.
