The court arrested Leonid Volkov for 20 days

The Preobrazhensky District Court of Moscow has arrested Leonid Volkov, head of the presidential campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny, for twenty days for organizing a rally on October 7 on Pushkinskaya Square in Moscow. The court found Volkov guilty of repeated violation of the rules for organizing a public action (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Volkov was accused of illegally campaigning to attend unauthorized rallies via Twitter. The dissatisfaction of the police was caused by two tweets:

Volkov was detained on October 5 on the steps of the Moscow City Court, which had previously released Volkov from administrative arrest for 20 days. Volkov At first, they were going to leave at the police department until the morning, but then they decided to urgently take him to court.

On October 2, the Savelovsky District Court arrested Volkov for 20 days for repeated violation of the law on rallies (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), Volkov immediately went on a hunger strike. Three days later, on October 5, Leonid Volkov was also unexpectedly released from custody, his case will be considered in Nizhny Novgorod.
