School uniform - then and now

The phrase " school form " causes double associations in Russians. On the one hand, people recall how everything is small in their youth, they were obliged to go to school in uniform. On the other hand, the topic was not so long in society about whether it was not customary to return it to schools, where it has not been accepted for many years. Why do you need a uniform at school?

Why do you need a uniform?

Uniform or dress code is a special internal style of the enterprise. It is designed to serve for various purposes. For example, the shape of the workers' clothing does not constrain movements and allows them to work in dirty and dusty industries, while such clothing protects well from dirt, moisture and dust. Recently, such a material has been invented that is able to preserve the life and health of the worker that fell under the chain of chainsaws.

Uniform also shows a person’s belonging to a certain group of, say, police, firefighters, and military. The office dress code is designed to contribute to the concentration of people in the general business and not be distracted by the bright and causing clothes of colleagues. The school uniform pursued precisely these goals.

In addition, in the USSR, the school uniform emphasized the equality of students among themselves, because the students did not have much choice in clothes. The boys wore a woolen suit, which consisted of a gymnast and gray trousers (later the gymnast was replaced with a jacket, and the shape became blue), cap and belt with buckles. Girls wore a woolen brown dress below the knee, with a brown apron. On holidays, a white apron was put on. Any deviations from generally accepted rules were strictly punished.

After the abolition of the school uniform in Russia, it became obvious that not every schoolboy was going to follow the rule that school clothing should be strict and neat. And the parents felt a blow to the wallet, because the children, especially the teenagers, sought to appear in front of classmates in all their glory. This approach began to highly distinguish children on a financial basis, which was not in the best way affected the atmosphere in the classes.

In the end, the form in schools was introduced again, but unlike the Soviet era, they approached this case liberally, i.e., each region chooses what form the children will wear. There are many styles and flowers. Of course, all costumes are designed as part of a business style. Not all schoolchildren joyfully perceived this innovation.

Whether to wear a uniform at school - the question is quite discussion, and more than once it will be raised in schools, families and at the state level.
