The largest developer ran for mayor of Krasnoyarsk

The leader of the faction "For Krasnoyarsk!" in the City Council, Vladimir Yegorov went to the mayoral elections. He owns one of the largest developers in the region.

Egorov submitted documents for the competition on October 5, the press service of the City Council reported. He became the eighth contender for the post of mayor.

Vladimir Egorov was born in the Krasnoyarsk city of Uyar in 1952. Graduated from the Krasnoyarsk State Polytechnic Institute. He began his career as an installer in the construction department No. 12 of the Glavkrasnoyarskstroy plant. He worked in various positions in the largest construction enterprises of the region.

In 1993, he became the general director of the Sibiryak limited liability partnership. The company changed its legal form several times, but retained its name. Egorov owns 75% of the developer's share, Ekaterina Kochetkova owns 25%.

Since 2013, Yegorov has headed the Civic Platform faction in the City Council. But after the change of the federal leadership of the party, headed by Rifat Shaikhutdinov, local deputies from the “GP” liquidated the association, forming an independent faction “For Krasnoyarsk!”.

The competition is set for October 11th. In addition to Yegorov, seven applicants submitted documents, including the current mayor Edkham Akbulatov (United Russia) and city council deputy Vladimir Vladimirov (Patriots of Russia).

The law on elections of municipal authorities in a new edition was adopted in December 2014 at the initiative of Tolokonsky. As a result, direct elections of heads of administrations were abolished. In February 2015, new changes were made to the law, providing for a transition to a competitive selection of mayors of cities and heads of districts.
