"Medusa" and "Artdokfest" jointly talk about all films participating in the competition program of the festival documented cinema. This time, the president of Artdokfest Vitaly Mansky represents one of the programs of the festival - Artoxet ; It includes only those films that are posted on the Internet. In total, the program has 21 picture - among them there are films about politics, documentary blockbusters, arthouse and not only. And you can see everything - and also vote for the best film!

When we declare the competitive films "Artdokfest", I know that readers have mixed feelings. On the one hand, possibly joy, and on the other, not everyone lives in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg, where our films will be shown. In this sense, the Artoxet program partially compensates for the existing injustice.

Due to the narrowing of the space of freedom in the country, there is a movement that is looking for other ways to implement its projects and goes to the Internet, where there is still freedom. And documentaryists use this, making films specifically for the Internet. So, for example, the Radio “Radio“ Freedom ”” not so long ago opened its own studio for the production of documentaries - and in the 2017 Artoxet competition five of their films at once.

First of all, I would celebrate the film "I am nobody." This film, I admit, struck me completely. All 30 minutes I watched a picture of the internal life of the headquarters of Alexei Navalny in Murmansk - a very interesting life with a bright main character, which is the coordinator of the regional headquarters. A very cognitive film that explained to me who these people, how they live, what motivates them, how they communicate - and it seemed that this was quite enough not to regret the time spent on the screen. Suddenly, this picture about the supporters of Navalny at the last moment turns into a real human tragedy - there are certain things that open the main character, which has already become close to me. You suddenly get completely new emotions. And this movement of young people who support new Russia through Navalny suddenly acquires in the context of what comes at the end of the film, a completely different sound, other meanings, a different philosophy.

Radio freedom I am nobody

Radio “Freedom” makes a very important, serious work. This is the film "Queue" about the usual queue for free bread; and "Day of Russia" about protests in Moscow on June 12; And the “ “ fighting raccoons ”of Holy Russia-about how combat detachments are created in Orthodox-patriotic camps, clubs, circles and other sections at temples.

The program "Artoxet" presents not only films with a political sound. It contains, for example, a humanly very interesting picture “only about the star” about the provincial DJ, which talks about the philosophy of DJ, and maybe just about survival in the Russian province. Or a picture of a young reckless girl “Maya” , who went to Goa with her lover. Or in some ways a laboratory, and in some way the prophetic picture “I am a hologram” about people living in a real and unreal world at the same time. And the story of young girls who became widows after the collapse of the plane flying to Syria - it is called the "wife" . And the visual art dedicated to the night and morning Moscow - from a student of the Moscow School of Cinema.

In total, the program "Artoxet" is 21 film. There are documentary blockbusters like "Free love!" , the large perennial work of Arkady Kogan on the movement “Rus Sitting”. And very little experiments, like “Moscow and Morning”. And large arthouse projects like “Women: the art of seduction” - about women who openly talk about their experience of seduction.

All these films represent our life in the diversity that is neither in official media nor at the official rental. I would say that the Artoxet program allows you to look at our life in all its rough charm.
