Kirov City Hall considers the picket in memory of journalist Anna Politkovskaya to be uncoordinated

The Kirov administration sent its response to relocate the location of the picket in memory of murdered journalist Anna Politkovskaya eight days after receiving the notification. The administration said that the place is already taken. The organizer of the action, Vadim Ananyin, insists that he is right and intends to hold a picket on the central square of the city. He reported this to OVD-Info.

On September 21, Vadim Ananyin sent a notice to the administration about holding a rally on October 7 from 13:00 to 19:00 on the square near the city administration's picket in memory of Politkovskaya. Eight days later, on September 29, he received a response in which the administration suggested that he hold his picket not on the central square, but in the village of Komintern, located thirteen kilometers from the city. In its first response, the administration did not explain the reasons for the relocation.

Later it turned out that the Young Guard was holding its event on the square from 7 am to 10 pm. On October 6, Ananin addressed the Governor of the Kirov Region and the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kirov Region.

The organizer does not agree with the position of the officials and believes that they did not have time to answer him in time. In this case, he considers the picket agreed and intends to hold it. Since 2006, Ananin has held a rally in memory of the murdered journalist Anna Politkovskaya every year.
