1892. Marina Tsvetaeva was born

125 years ago, on October 8, 1892, Marina Tsvetaeva, an outstanding Russian poet, was born. In 1922, she emigrated and since 1925 lived in Paris with her husband Sergey Efron, who became an agent of the NKVD. In October 1937, Efron, involved in the murder of a former NKVD resident Ignatius Reiss, was forced to flee to the USSR. Marina joined him in 1939, but her daughter Ariadne was soon arrested, and Efron, shot two years later, was arrested in October 1939.

Marina committed suicide on August 31, 1941 in Elabuga, leaving a suicide note to her son George: “Murlyga! Forgive me, but it would be worse. I am seriously ill, it’s not me. I love you insanely. Understand that I could no longer live. Give me dad and ale - if you saw them until the last minute, and explain that I got into a dead end.”
