The Ministry of Justice threatens Radio Liberty "restrictions" for journalists

The Ministry of Justice sent the Corporation Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty a letter with a notification of "Possibility to establish restrictions" for its journalists. About a letter sent by the signature of the director of the Department for NGOs of Vladimir Titov, according to the RS website.

Titov refers to the Russian media law, which provides for the "establishing restrictions for correspondents of the media of those states in which there are special restrictions for the professional activities of journalists of the media registered in the Russian Federation."

In addition, the official states that Radio Liberty, according to the “Russian competent authorities”, falls under the definition of NPO - “foreign agent”. In this regard, it also does not exclude for RS "restrictions provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation."

In December last year, the former US ambassador to Moscow, Michael McFaol, said that the employees of Russian propaganda resources - the RT channel and the Sputnik agency - may be recognized as foreign agents .
