The Russian Ministry of Justice has threatened to limit the work of Radio Liberty and the Current Time channel.
The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation has warned Radio Liberty that the work of its journalists in Russia may be restricted. The channel Current Time and the website Idel.Realii (other Radio Liberty projects) received the same warning.
The letter of warning was signed by Vladimir Titov, Director of the Department of the Ministry of Justice for Non-Commercial Organizations. He refers to the law "On the Mass Media", which provides for the possibility of restricting the work of media correspondents from those states where restrictions on the work of Russian media employees have been introduced.
The Ministry of Justice confirmed the authenticity of the letter over the phone and joked that a paper copy would come to the editorial office "in two months."
