The house's current owner, 68-year-old former businessman John Hampson, has put it up for sale with luxury estate agency Savills for £795,000. "We've been here for almost 20 years. We moved from a flat in London because we wanted our young children to have lots of indoor and outdoor space," says John. He adds that now that the children have grown up and moved away, he and his wife do not need such a big house.

Before The Old Court was purchased by John Hampson, it was used as a luxury hotel. Realtors note that the guesthouse was very popular with tourists and the new owner may well continue this business.
