The founder of the Telegram messenger Pavel Durov called Russian technologies the best, and also briefly spoke about how Russia can become a world technological leader.
Durov shared his opinion in a commentary to a video excerpt in which the famous journalist Yuri Dud calls for using Telegram, calling it “the best messenger in the world,” like everything Russian.
“I agree with Yuri: Russian technologies are the best. It’s a pity that, due to ill-conceived laws, Russian is not always converted into Russian. As long as there are restrictions and risks at the local level, business will go to those jurisdictions where they do not exist. I hope that someday “someday these restrictions will be lifted and Russia will be able to take its rightful place in the world - the place of a global technological leader,” wrote the founder and former head of VKontakte.
Let us recall that on September 27, Durov spoke about the notifications the company received from the FSB, from which it follows that the special service drew up a protocol on an administrative offense on Telegram, since the Telegram team did not provide the authorities with information to “decoding received, transmitted, delivered and processed messages” according to the law. About information, information technologies and information protection."
The service was obliged to hand over the encryption keys to the FSB, since at the end of June it was included in the register of organizers of information dissemination. In connection with failure to comply with this requirement, the company faces an administrative fine in the amount of 800 thousand to a million rubles, and Roskomnadzor may issue an order requiring the violation for which the fine was imposed to be eliminated within 15 days. If the company does not comply with the order, Roskomnadzor may begin blocking the service.
