Putin fired the governor of the Omsk region

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the termination of the powers of the governor of the Omsk region Viktor Nazarov. The document was published on the Kremlin website.

“Accept the resignation of the governor of the Omsk region Nazarov V.I. voluntarily,” the decree says.

Alexander Burkov has been appointed as Acting Governor of the Omsk Region.

Last week, the media reported that Nazarov announced his resignation at a closed meeting in the regional government.

The source of Om1.ru reported that the head of the region said goodbye to his subordinates, despite the fact that the Kremlin had not yet decided on his resignation.

At the same time, Nazarov's press secretary, Yulia Sokolenko, denied this information. She told Novaya Gazeta that there was a hardware meeting, but Nazarov did not say goodbye to anyone.

The fact that the head of the Omsk region is going to be dismissed was also reported by RIA Novosti. It was back in September. Then the source of the agency in the presidential administration said that "changes are required in the Omsk region to improve manageability in the region."

RBC reported that State Duma deputy from the Just Russia party Alexander Burkov was one of the participants in a training session held by the presidential administration to train personnel for leadership positions in the regions.

Viktor Nazarov has been in charge of the Omsk region since 2012.
